| As mentioned above, this inn offers a choice of a dinner and breakfast plan or an overnight stay with no meal plan, but we recommend that you choose the plan with meals. For dinner, there is a choice between a shabu-shabu course and a sukiyaki course. The dishes are prepared in a kitchen located in a separate building nearby and brought to you by the staff. During the meal, the staff usually stays in the kitchen to add drinks and clear empty plates, but if you do not need the staff when the food is delivered, they will be happy to accommodate your request. |

| The Hakone Sengokuhara area is easily accessible to popular areas such as Owakudani, Lake Ashinoko, and Mount Fuji. At “HAKONE KAIRAI”, there is also the image of having one's own personal butler in one-building style suite. Thinking about it, it would be more convenient and cost-effective to have such a facility as a regular lodge than to own a villa. However, this inn is not a typical onsen ryokan, but rather a facility that was established in May 2025 based on a new concept. The character “KAI” in the inn's name “KAIRAI” carries a sense of nostalgia, evoking warm memories of the past. At the same time, “KAI” can also be read as “Futokoro”, meaning “embrace” or “bosom”. And conveys a desire to create an inn that is broad-minded, welcoming, and generous in spirit. Furthermore, the inn may be aiming to become a place people remember when they feel the need to step away from the stresses of modern life, whether it's relationships or work-related worries—and seek refuge in a comforting “Futokoro”, or emotional sanctuary. In other words, it aspires to be a kind of “secret inn for adults”. That said, it feels as though the future character of this inn will ultimately be shaped by the guests who come to love it. Just as its name “KAIRAI” suggests, it is sure to grow into a warm and welcoming place and a place where you can spend peaceful time with someone you truly trust. We recommend that you stay at least 2 nights if possible. The quiet and natural surroundings will make you realize how comfortable and cozy this place is.(J) |
